Shadowcloud, good to read you again. Especially after who balanced it out with the "Benny Hill" theme. Definitely made me smile!

Had to be brutally honest after reflecting on the past 8yrs and 24 or so days. Am not one who reacts to what is smoke and noise. Not faulting those who don't see it that way. Although there is one obvious contradiction they have yet to square. On one hand, the argument is Trump is unlike any other President, then say Trump should be viewed and judged as just another President, strictly through a nebulous political lens.

Intentionally omitted many other things in the hope a few will pause and reflect as well. Have lived my life w/a focus on the few who in turn become multipliers. Others look to plant an entire field and hope and pray for a bountiful harvest to be stored in some silo. They do take care in watering and feeding the field yet in the end it's all the same crop.

My approach is on the value of individuals. Knowing well they already have a solid foundation of knowledge and possess intellectual curiosity and rigor. And are comfortable in their own skin which allows them to be more open to others who are not like them or see things differently than they do. In many ways, it is a child-like virtue. Those and other qualities allow them to absorb new information and discard information requiring updating or in many cases, deleted.

Perspective is best seen through a kaleidoscope than from a telescope. The kaleidoscope constantly reminds all of the different possibilities. A telescope shows the same thing no matter what view you choose (confirmation bias).

Bell Well. Mary.

My late Father was addicted to the Benny Hill Show. Anytime I saw him he would retell epis and add how the best commentary on the world writ large comes from comedians. Much like the best philosophers are lofty poets (4eg Amanda Gorman). And on and on.

Larger point is that there is a place for "experts". However, they to can reach the point when they must ask self, is this year 32 in this field or is it year four eight times over. The true expert begins looking outside of self, not to other field experts, rather to others from different fields for inspiration and a different approach.

FTR am grateful for the kind words in your last essay

My late Father was a Benny Hill addict due to the unashamed silliness yet came with an underlying message of the times. A true comedic genius in the Red Skelton mold. As was his production team.

There are some clips and epis on YOUTUBE from his shows. Most recall the use of the song with his signature chase scenes that fans did not want to end.
